AN Hose End & Braided Hose

Maybe you haven’t realized a few things about AN hose fittings. “AN” stands for “Army Navy”, in reference to their original application with military equipment. AN sizes are very simple. You simply make a fraction out of the AN size. Place the AN size over 16.

For example: A “3 AN ” size fitting fits a 3/16″ hose size. A “10 AN” hose fitting fits a 10/16″ hose size, better known as 5/8″.

Milwaukee M12 Cordless Impact Wrench

Milwaukee cordless 3/8 impact
Milwaukee cordless 3/8 impact – Square Drive

From time to time, we like to show you tools that we find useful, quality tools on sale etc…. Recently I purchased a few of the Milwaukee M12 tools for around the house and in the garage. I bought the 1/4 inch hex impact driver thinking it would be useful when assembling any number of things. It turns out the little driver is a torque monster that really turns the bolts well. I was surprised how useful it is. It’s really nice to be able to assemble things quickly when you’re building them. A lot of times, you weld and then may assemble the thing and take it apart several times. It really speeds this up. It’s also a bonus that it’s so compact and light as well as no air hose to get in the way. Milwaukee also makes a 3/8 square drive (just like your regular 3/8 impact wrench). It’s very similar to the hex impact driver, just a bit more torque and RPM. I haven’t used it, but now that I know it exists, I’ll probably add that to my collection.

Milwaukee 3/8 M12 Cordless Impact Wrench – The tool is around $100 with no batteries or charger. Around $189 with 2 batteries and charger.
