1952 Chevy 3100 PickupJim in Fallbrook, California sent in his glowing 1952 Chevy 3100. Jim’s 52 is an updated classic that’s easy to drive. He added a Mustang II front suspension and disc brakes on both ends. Bringing up the rear is a Ford 9 inch. A 350 ci engine with a TH400 automatic transmission gets him down the road.

1976 Ford F250 FrontGreg from Washington sent in his 1976’ Ford F250 Highboy for your viewing pleasure. He restored it 13 years ago and has been wheeling it ever since. Under the hood is a 425 hp 428 ci FE engine with an Edelbrock intake & carburetor along with a Mallory ignition set-up. Headman Headers flow the exhaust to a 2 ½ inch Flowmaster exhaust. Backing up the 428 is a C-6 Automatic transmission. 37 inch TrXus Radials mounted on slotted mags. A winch bumper with an 8000lb. Warn winch gets Greg out of trouble when he needs it!

1972 Chevy C10 Pickup TruckGreg from CA sent in photos of his 1972 Chevy C10 that he drives daily. Under the hood is a rebuilt 350 with a TH350 auto transmission for plenty of power motoring around town. Greg’s truck is equipped with power steering, power brakes and air conditioning for those hot summer California days. Pumping out the tunes is an AM/FM/CD stereo with the antenna in the windshield to keep the body smoother.

Gray cloth interior was added to freshen up the cab along with a new Grant steering wheel.

Kevin Harvick Wins NASCAR Camping World Truck Race Easily At Martinsville

Saturday March 31, 2012 – When Kevin Harvick wins the pole in a truck race, he seems to win on race day! In four previous races where he took the pole, Harvick went on to win. Starting from the pole Saturday, Kevin Harvick lead all but 2 laps of the NASCAR Camping World Truck race at Martinsville Speedway. His domination of the rest of the field seemed effortless, if you can say such a thing about a truck race at Martinsville. The Paper Clip is notorious for destroying trucks, but Harvick avoided burning up brake parts, tires and rear end gears which put several trucks in the pits. Every lap seemed smooth with solid work in the pits by his crew. No one really challenged him all day. His teammate at Richard Childress Racing, Ty Dillon, had an almost equally impressive drive. Dillon followed Harvick in the number 2 spot almost the entire race, except for running in the lead the 2 laps that Harvick didn’t occupy first place.

2012 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway

John King has the points lead going Into this weekend’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway. After winning the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway, King will have his work cut out on the, often wild, half mile paper clip that is Martinsville Speedway. Making the change from the large super speedway of Daytona to the short track set-up isn’t always easy. Brake and equipment wear may also come into play. Drivers who can take care of their equipment to make it to the end have a chance to take the checkered flag. Martinsville is known for a lot of contact. With a confined space for pit road and a half mile track, there will be plenty of carnage.  Timothy Peters and Justin Lofton are 2nd and 3rd in the standings and will also be looking for strong runs to stay on top of the standings.

If you’re looking to update your 61-66 Ford Truck wiring, look no further than American Autowire. They have a wiring harness made up with just about everything you’ll need for basic wiring plus many accessories like aftermarket gauges, AC and more. The price is right at $569 at present time.

Details From the American Autowire Website:

  1. Will accommodate 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive body applications.
  2. A replacement headlight switch with internal 30 amp circuit breaker, adjustable length shaft, and custom knob.
  3. Standard turn signal flasher, hazard flasher, and horn relay mounted on harness.
  4. NEW compact ATO-Style fuse panel that is fully encased in a closed box assembly with two mounting pads (mounting hardware included). The fuse coverlid is labeled on the inside identifying all circuits by description and their respective fuse ratings. All high amperage output circuits incorporate the same superior spring steel reinforced terminals that are used in our Highway Series kits.
  5. Harness is laid out and formed to allow for nearly all after market accessories such as; gauge packages, wiper systems, heat and air conditioning systems, etc.
  6. Original switch connector bodies – an American Autowire exclusive feature.
  7. Steering column connectors can plug directly into most aftermarket steering columns or stock 1961-66 Ford columns using the adapter and terminals included in the kit.
  8. Separate under dash courtesy lamp assemblies are also included for use along with your original dome/interior lighting feeds.
  9. Instrument Cluster wiring is designed with a “cluster harness disconnect” system for easy service and assembly. Original terminals and connectors (another American Autowire exclusive) are provided for stock cluster connections. The system will also connect into most popular aftermarket gauges such as AUTOMETER, CLASSIC INSTRUMENTS, STEWART WARNER, VDO, and others.
  10. Rear body harness assembly plugs into the main harness at the left kick panel location and our longer leads allow for stock or custom routing of the wires. Rear body wiring includes backup light lead wires and connectors along with stop and tail light lead wires and connectors to mate into the stock Ford tail and back up lamp pigtail assemblies. A license plate lamp lead connection, as well as a fuel tank sender wire with tank unit connection is also included.
  11. New floor dimmer switch is provided for ease of installation. Wire length and connection accommodate original floor mount dimmer switch.
  12. Engine wiring includes feeds for coil, tach, water temperature, oil pressure, electric choke, and electric speedometer (if needed). A heavy gauge alternator feed and fusible link are also included for any typical high output 1 wire or internally regulated alternator. Connectors supplied for power and tach leads for GM style H.E.I. distributors along with various oil and temp senders. A Ford Gen III series alternator adapter is available separately.
  13. Front lighting includes extra long leads that can be routed for stock or optional appearances. All head light, parking light, and directional light leads, along with a switched trigger wire for an electric fan relay (usually recommended with AC) are provided. Mating terminals and connectors are also provided for you to complete your custom installation.
  14. New ignition switch with indexed connector included.

Remembering back 20 years ago when I started into hot rodding, I remember 1 wheel that was on almost every pro-streeted vehicle around. It was, and is, strong enough to race and it looked awesome on any vehicle. As you might guess, designing a wheel that everyone likes is almost impossible. It is a testament to a wheel design that so many people loved the look of the ProStar. It is our Wheel of the Week.

The Pro Star is one of the longest produced five-star style drag racing wheel for a reason, its storied past makes it one of the more iconic wheels on the marketplace. These wheels used to be the norm in NHRA Pro Stock and eventually made its way down to the streets on muscle cars and late-model vehicles. The two-piece cold forged and welded construction allows the wheel to be lightweight but hold up to the rigors of daily drivers.
